Scanner Problem!! Help

Just purchased Canon FB630P scanner. After installing I am getting error message "Parallel port may be used by another application." Can anyone tell me what the problem is.....any help would be appreciated...!

Do you have a HP laser printer on this? HP's a lot of times don't like to share the printer port.

Do you have a zip drive on this?

Have you tried rebooting again?

How is the printer port setup? Bi-directional?

Check the Port Protocol in BIOS. I use ECP/EPP. My scanner requires one, the printer wants the other. I had similar problems when the setting was incorrect.

Please tell me exactly in "very simple terms" where I can find BIOS? Sorry new to this....
