Just purchased Canon FB630P scanner. After installing I am getting error message "Parallel port may be used by another application." Can anyone tell me what the problem is.....any help would be appreciated...!

Nathan 12-28-1999, 08:23 PM Do you have a HP laser printer on this? HP's a lot of times don't like to share the printer port. Do you have a zip drive on this? Have you tried rebooting again? How is the printer port setup? Bi-directional? Roy 12-28-1999, 08:32 PM Check the Port Protocol in BIOS. I use ECP/EPP. My scanner requires one, the printer wants the other.
