Hoping someone may be able to answer the following problem.
When using a Genealogy CD for research my Mother-in-laws PC locked up,
she tried ALT+CTRL+DEL, nothing happened, stayed frozen.
Turned off the power, waited a bit then powered on.
Absolutely nothing except power indicators and a little sound from the hard disk, no display, no boot sequence.
All cables are connected properly and cards are seated firmly.
There are no error beeps.

I am assuming either faulty BIOS chip or CPU, though I would have expected some kind of error beep for these.

The PC has been back to the supplier (under warranty) they say that it
could be not enough RAM or enough memory on the video card. This doesn't sit too well with me because the program that was being used at the time isn't very hungry as there are very few graphics involved,
mainly text.

Some specs:
Intel Celeron 667Mhz CPU
64Mb PC133 RAM
4Mb S3 Video Card

Any suggestions gratefully accepted,

Thanks for your time,
Stuart

Thats what the PC supplier said? You would think since they sold you the PC they should know a bit more about PCs. StuartN, it sounds like your motherboard has packed up. Had the PC been overclocked at all? If the PC is still under warranty, take it back and ask for a replaced or that is be fixed.
