If there is a way, I would like to know also.
I got a monitor that doesn't have an ati-reflection screen and i had to get one of those add-on screens. (I hate it)
P.S. some of the people here might not like the way you posted this twice. Also all your exclamation marks in a row kind of screwed up the topic page by making it too wide to fit on an 800x600 display. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I used to deal with faulty hardware, and we had a lot of monitors with problems regarding their anti-glare coat on the tube itself.
Unfortunately, we found no way of improving it, so we used to sell them very cheap, or just throw them in a skip.
Sorry, not much use really is it.
I'm sorry about how obnoxious I was, but it seemed as if I had to be that way to get some attention.
:|
but i have another question.
does the coat make a difference at all?
besides dampening the glare a tad?

Odio, in the future please don't multiple post in different forums. You haven't given anyone much of a chance to respond to your original post - realize it's the holidays and most posts do get answered if you show a little patience.
Also, for anyone: Rather than posting a new topic, if after a couple of days your post is still unanswered, you can reply to your own post to bring it to the top of the page, where it will be more visible.
Please, give a couple days before upping your thread.

Well, I've been searching for awhile but can't seem to find anything on how to reapply the coating or fix... it's got to be out there though, so don't give up.
Maybe you could try calling local tech shops and see if they have suggestions... sorry couldn't help you out much, hopefully someone else can!
You can buy an anti-glare screen or apply a coat of tint found @ 1 auto parts store
Well, I have encountered another problem with my monitor.
It emitts a very high-pitched beep whenever I am in the 800x600 resolution.
http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif can anyone help me some more?

The high pitched squeal is normally from the tube, and not a lot you can do with it.
Actually you could try adjusting the refresh rate.

But it fluxuates, sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt do it, sometimes it is obnoxiously loud, and other times I hardly notice it.
It doesnt happen in any other resolution and it just started to happen today
YES
I found the problem
Too high refresh rate..
When my Voodoo 2 runs it doesnt beep. the voodoo 2 is @ 60Hz
When my TNT 2 runs it does beep. The TNT 2 is @ 85Hz
but now, how do I change the refresh.
I have this program called HZ tool
but I do not trust it.
any other way?

What is a good Refresh Rate Configuration Utility?

go into the display part on control panel, then settings, then adapter, and its at the bottom.
85hz is pushing it a little, anything above 72hz is considered flicker free, I use 75.
Maybe that will help solve it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Thankyou for clarifying that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I thought it had only default and optimal but I guess now a bunch of new selections have appeared! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
but before I do anything, should i have my desktop set @ that resolution before I change it?
thankyou very much

Yes it will only change the refresh rate for the resolution you are currently set at.
It stopped beeping!!
Thankyou so much
