A lot of programs have a un-install file in their resective folder. Do it that way.

Or, go to Control Panel and do it through the Add/Delete progrms icon.

If it's a DOS based program, you can tell by the way it installs itself by putting a folder directly in C:

When I see that, I know it's fairly safe to delete the whole folder and not worry.

Check Regedit too for leftovers if you're comfortable about it.

Be careful. Back up Registry first - in Run type: scanreg

what is the best way to get rid of a program that does not have an un-install program? i dont know if is has any shared files in it. the only thing i can think of is drag the stupid program to the recycle bin but that kinda gives me the heebeegeebies.
