I downloaded Audiogalaxy the other night. The next day I came home and tried to use my computer. The internet wouldn't work. AIM wouldn't work. I couldn't check my email. None of my programs could access the internet. They either gave me an error or stopped responding. I removed Audiogalaxy thinking it was that. Didn't help. So I hopped on my parents' computer and searched. I think that my troubles are caused by some software included with audiogalaxy named webhancer. I've tried to work with it, doing everything that the help has told me to do. This program is very bad from what I hear, and from my experience. I uninstalled normally like the site says to do (www.webhancer.com) and tried uninstalling with Ad-ware like many sites recommend. Those seem to give solutions to other people's problems but not mine. I've tried everything I can think of. If you can help me by telling me something you know or whatever, please share with me. I beg of you. I need my computer and I need the stuff on it, and I need to be able to check my email. Thanks.

if you are running win98
then goto start... then run....the type in
MSCONFIG
now click on start up and take out webhancer
then reboot
now go and remove the folder from you c drive and delete your recylebin
now it will say can't remove
but once you reboot and then empty it
it will be gone

I already removed it with the add/remove programs thing, and also with ad-ware. see i did it with ad-ware first. then the webhen. website said to reinstall it and remove it with the add/remove progs thing. i did that. are you saying i should reinstall it and just delete the folder?

Me thinks your WSOCK32.DLL may have become corrupted. You may want to try removing in DOS and if your using W98, use System File Checker to reinstall it from your W98 CD.

I too believe it is either a problem with a wsock or winsock file. I'm not a whiz in dos, so if I could get some instructions on how to remove it in dos and redo it all I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Restart your computer in MS-DOS (that should be an option from the shut down button if your running W98).
At the C:\ type "cd windows" (no quotation marks)
At the C:\WINDOWS type "cd system" (no quotation marks)
Then type "del wsock32.dll" (no quotation marks)
Then restart your computer.
When Windows loads, you'll get some error messages telling you that you have a missing file and some programs may not work properly, just click okay.
Click Start/Run and type "SFC" (no quotation marks)
Choose "Extract one file from Installation Disk" and type in "wsock32.dll" and click "Start" (Make sure you have the W98 Disk in your CD Drive.)

I tried removing the file in dos, and I rebooted, ran the SFC and it restored the wsock32.dll file. I then tried to use my internet, and it still won't work. Any other ideas?
Use SFC, go into advanced options/settings ( I forget exactly ) and select to look for corrupt/missing files and select all folders to scan...all folders, that is. Run the scan and replace all bad files.
Next is to look in your add remove software list...if you have new.net installed, remove it...it kills your DNS settings and filters/forwards every bit of internet traffic from your PC through their website.
Good luck.
I too was unfortunate enough to recieve the same webhancer from audigalaxy but i have Win ME, sfc does not exist, and for some reason it seemed to take windows explorer with it too i expected Internet explorer to go but not explorer i managed to delete the files as described above but can't seem to get wsock32.dll back and explorer will only open for a max 5 secs.
Any suggestions cheers
