For sites you go to often, and, depending on how much cache you wish to support, it can really speed things up. Plaster 04-08-1999, 10:53 AM I'm using Netsonic right now. It really does speed things up. When a page changes, it downloads the changes in the background. All you have to do is hit refresh on your browser and the new content is there in a flash. Definitely worth the price (Free). Go ahead and try it. ENVY 04-08-1999, 11:45 AM web accelerators do one thing, they cache a web page onto your harddrive.this gives you the illusion of a faster browsing experience. If you have a lot of hard drive space then I guess they are ok,but,a program like tweakDUN or MTUspeedpro can actually help improve your dial up connection by adjusting your packet size and rwin settings.I use mtuspeedpro and saw a good increase of browsing speed with this utility.Maybe try one of these proggies and a web accelerator proggy too and you may get a satisfactory experience.Just remember if you don't have a lot of hard drive space to allocate for cache for the accelerator then it is not going to help you very much. kwai 04-08-1999, 03:33 PM webwhacker also sucks -- it was supposed to cache and organize websites, but it actually slowed down the connection more than 2X.
