OnHold Music, Maybe someone will come by with some better suggestions, but...some of these KT133a boards have a certain place to plug in the fan for the heat sink on the processor. If nothing is attached to those headers, it will not boot. Do you hear any beeps from the case speaker?..assuming you have attached the case speaker to the board.

Other than no video onscreen, do you hear any thing?...like the hard drive trying to spin up. Any lights on the case for drives, power on light on the case. Do the lights flash on the keyboard, how about the light on the floppy drive. In other words...is there any activity anywhere other than the fans spinning?...

No lights on keyboard
4 red leds on board staying solid
HD doesnt spin
Explorer mouse doesnt blink
No sound

just fans spinning. The only way i can shut it down is by either pulling the plug or the switch on the PS
(had probs figuring out the SWLED,HDDLED,RESETLED jumpers\ possible source of prob?)
Thanks for the reply!

Solid light on floppy usually means the connector is plugged in backwards.

Watch those DLED's when you try to boot it. They should flash various sequences as you go through the boot process. You said they stay all red. Check you're manual, but I think that means the processor is dead or not installed properly (could also be that the processor fan is not plugged in or is not giving a signal to the motherboard that it is plugged in)

Yikes! - I didn't notice the part about the 266 mhz processor. AuraEdge is right - the K7t pro2A doesn't support the 266 mhz processors. The board might boot at the lower speed, but it also might just fail to recognize the processor, which would explain the straight red DLED's.

You really need to either upgrade that MB for a K7T Turbo, or downgrade that processor to a 200 Mhz unit.

The KT7 Pro2a is not a KT133a board...its a KT133 board. The KT7 Turbo and the KT7 Turbo-R are KT133a boards

That means that your CPU will boot at 750Mhz. (7.5x100 instead of 7.5x133)

Now if you could get it to boot...I built my last computer with tthis board so im somewhat familiar with it but I had no unusual problems with the first boot of this board.

Try starting up with just the Powersupply, Athlon w/ heatsink, Geforce, and RAM connected to the board (Check the RAM and Geforce again to make sure connections are right).
It should boot with just those.

The LED's dont really matter The Pow sw is jus the power switch (makes the button on the front of the case work) and the reset sw just is the reset switch (Makes the reset button on the front of the case work).
The LED's are all just the blinky lights on the front of the case, and has nothing to do with the comp booting.

Do you have a 300w powersupply?
If not, thats what I think the problem is. The powerful athlon system is juicing more out of the powersupply than it can give.
