I have a computer hooked up to both a Network and local(lpt1) printer. For some reason it will decide to print to the Network printer, even when the local is selected. The first time, I removed and reinstalled the ltp1 port from Device Manager, and it seemed to do the trick, but it is doing it again...any suggestions
Oh it is Windows 2000 with Netware client

Go into your printer folder (within the control panel folder) and make sure the LOCAL printer is set as default.

It is the default, plus if I right click on it and select Print Test Page, it will still come out on the network printer. All of the settings are correct, it is just strange. I can go into Device Manager and remove the lpt1 port, and reinstall it, (which will allow me to print locally) but after a time, it will start printing to the network again.

Are they the same printer? If so, that might cause the problem.
Other than that, beats me....

When you print, make sure when the print dialouge screen pops up you have your local printer selected. This will mean you have to select Flie-Print instead of hitting the print icon in your apps. When the Print dialouge screen pops up, at the top of the screen, select your local printer and all should be fine. I don't know why it won't print to default though. I hope this helps.

Why not delete the printer from that PC, reboot, and reinstall the printer. This time make sure it's to the local LPT port. Bear in mind you might have to reinstall the driver on the other PC's if need be.
