Soundblaster's all the same?

I was wondering if there is any difference other than software with the soundblaster live value, soundblaster mp3 & the soundblaster Xgamer. I was told that the hardware on all three are the same, anyone know if this is correct?

I have the MP3 but I think the value doesn't have a digital output.

I think it is mainly a software difference, I was doing a little comparing and it even seems the SoundBlaster 512 seemed compatible to the Live! series, as far as the audio quality.
