My HP 8570c will only recognize 256 of a 512MB DIMM installed. Is this a BIOS issue? If it is, HP offers no updates since a year ago, so where can I go to upgrade my BIOS?

gotta couple of new HP's here still in the box. I'll set one up and check the BIOS for dimm settings. HP uses Phoenix and I've forgotten so before I say something.......

I did have the same problem that was solved here recently. I had to play w/ the BIOS on an AOpen AK33 on tweak the default settings to accept 640 PC133 SDRAM (2x256x128). The system kept hanging up, etc.

I'll get back to u tomorrow with a can do or can not.

Anyone else?
