Every Blank CD I put in the Philips CDD3610 recorder, when trying to record wave files from my computer, I get "T0100:I/O error
(03/73/02)CD error-power calibration area is full" The read stops at 25% of first track and the record stops at 14% then that error message shows up. I have reinstalled everything-CD rom, CD-RW, and Adaptic Deluxe. Can anyone help? Also I'm using Win 98SE. Thankyou

I dumped my Adaptec software and got Nero, it works better and IMHO is much easier to use.

It sounds similar to an underrun problem, or an encoding problem converting the wav files to cda files as it burns. Have you tried creating a disk image, saving it to the hard drive, and then burning the disk from the image?

Try searching Hewlett Packards web site on HP7100 cdrw. I had to disable disc at once setting. Apparently the software uses an area on the disc to calibrate the power requirements. Hope this helps.

I believe I can assure you that the laser has just bit the dust. They will quite often continue to read a disk, but when the laser starts going, thats the error you get. If you will look at dead center of a blank disk (where the power calibration tracks are) you will probably see no evidence of any burn at all. That Phillips CDD3610 was sold under just about every name there is. HP was a big reseller of these burners. There is no support for them. Many called and write Phillips for help, and Phillips wouldn't help. sometimes, they replaced one or two...but that was rare. Phillips finally wound up in a giant class action lawsuit, where there were many ppl involved.
Following are a few sites that may be of some help, and some testing procedures as well..
