I'm hearing from some Pros that a rewritable CD burned with music can not be played on a "regular" CD player the way a CD-R can.
Anyone have definitive info on this?

If all digital data transfers it should be the same. also you must use the ISO format. WW Roy 12-07-1999, 08:29 AM Thanks. I'll pass that along. [You may well have answered, I just didn't have the question at the time. Last night I dug up a thread from the archives for someone who is a newer member.} Dreamboat Annie 12-17-1999, 05:53 PM Hi Roy, I found a great FAQ site that answers your question. http://www.fadden.com/cdrfaq/faq01.html#[1-1] Apparently some of the older cd music players may not read the cd's you record. Please check out the FAQ page. You may have to read through to find the answer to this. Wiz 12-17-1999, 06:15 PM older cd players wont play either cd-rs nor cd-rws. some cd-roms are the same way EVGTech 12-18-1999, 03:24 AM Cdrw's use a much tighter laser beam and is harder to read then a regualar cd as i understand it. My philips 5 disk changer wont read a cd-rw and neither will most cd-rom's under 24X. hallam2003 12-18-1999, 06:29 AM the player has to be "multi-read" as I understand this that means that it has to be made after like '97 and still then there are some that may not work. I have a phillips burner and a phillips personal player and i bought the player about 6 months after the burner and the player won't play my CD's My car will though...hehehe Roy 12-18-1999, 04:00 PM Thanks for the additional input, especially Dreamboat Annie (Great Name! ~ makes me want to visit Seattle) for the FAQ link. Burners will almost always read them (duh!), but I have a Sony RW disc that wont work with my Sony CRX-100E!!!! For most instances, just use a CD-R, cos they are only $3 each (australian, so please dont insult my intelligence http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif) SysOpt.com
