Hello, i just recieved a used 390x thinkpad and I seem to have either one hard drive partitioned into 2 or i really have 2 hard drives of about 2.5 gigs each? is there anyway for me to find out for sure, i'm running WIN98 second edition? tHANKS!

My Computer icon, right click, then left click properties from the popup menu. Select device manager at the top. Select Disk drives, if only one is listed, you have a partitioned drive.

if you dont wanna open the sucker up....maybe try this. when you boot the pc you'll see your peripherals(your components in your pc. IE. cdroms, hard drive, floppy..etc.) hit the pause key during this phase and you will be able to see if you have 2 hard drives. maybe one is the primary master, and the other is the slave on that primary. for instance, youd see for western digital(WD13.7) or for seagate(SG10.5) or sumthing similar. its just hyphenated. if you see 2 hard driver, theres your answer. there might be an easy way but i cant think of it at the moment..hope this helps..

Hey folks,...you seem to be overlooking the simple solutions. When booting go into CMOS and see what you have. If you have 1 you'll seem primary master, if you have 2 you'll see a secondary master or primary slave.
