Ok, I know probably everyone has seen this but on the off chance there is one person out there who hasn't seen it, I want say this movie is a must, MUST, must see. SCROOGED with Bill Murray.

Of course there's the old stand-by "It's a Wonderful Life" and even without trying I end up watching that a couple times a year. But Scrooged has got to be my favorite Christmas movie. It helps that I'm a big Bill Murray fan, but come'on, how can you NOT like Bill Murray?

Bingo! But how about National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? I know that Scrooged is in keeping with the Dicken's "Christmas Carol," and you're right, you can't beat Bill Murray... But I love Christmas Vacation. It's just not Christmas without a visit to the Griswald's house! Chevy Chase (as far as I'm concerned all of the "original" SNL cast) is funny as all hell, and how about that early Juliette Lewis?

Anyway, I'm waaay too long winded tonight, so MERRY CHRISTMAS and to some of my friends HAPPY HANUKKAH!

Bill Murray IS a comic genius. No question about that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

The Wizard of Oz is one that always gets shown at Xmas in the UK, along with the Great Escape starring Steve McQueen. Both are excellent.

What I love about Christmas here is that many off-beat and classic films get shown over the holiday period - to name a few that are worth catching if they turn up on your schedule...

Blade Runner
M. Hulot's Holiday
Metropolis
Nosferatu
Wings (first movie to win Best Picture Oscar!)
Lost Horizon
The Sniper
Le Samourai
Last Year at Marienbad
La Dolce Vita

That should get you thinking! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I must admit I may just put Scrooged on this Christmas, or Wonderful life, but I got over three thousand to choose from, At one of the Computer auctions I went to they were auctioning off the Videos from a Bankrupt Video Store, guess who bid?, got some nice VCD's and a few DVD's as well. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Must admit I might just rerun Field Of Dreams, quite enjoyed that, watched it for the first time last night, any goof ball who sticks out for his dreams, has my vote. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Scrooged and Christmas Vacation are must views in our home as well.

What about the timeless classic, Christmas Story (Darrin Mcgavin)? We always look forward to it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, I'm embarrassed to say I've never seen Christmas Vacation. I guess I'll have to get on the ball and see that. I'm sure I'll love it as I did the other Vacations.

But as far as funny one liners go, I don't think it gets much better than "the ***** hit me with a toaster." - Scrooged.

Well I will keep the trend going and say
Christmas vacation and scrooged! These two flicks keep me and the wifey in stitches (kids get to watch some of it and then when the humor gets over their heads they go watch one of their movies)

U-96 - given your list, you might enjoy a little know movie called "Near Dark"

Another on the fine list of Bill Murry movies is "Ground Hogs Day" Must have watched that at least a dozen times in the last year - just can't click past it on the remote.....
