how to convert the b/w monitors 9 pin D-type connector to 15 pin D type connector

It's not so much a matter of merely converting the connector. The 15-pin D-sub is VGA whereas I suspect the 9-pin D-sub is either CGA or EGA. In other words, your b&w monitor is either CGA or EGA and (as far as I know) cannot be run from a VGA output. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I believe that you can make an adapter for it with parts from Radio Shack if they do not already a have such an adapter. If I remember correctly only 8 pins are used in a VGA cable, so the 15-9 pin converter is possible. I will research and reply later.

All-rigthtey then..

Before I start here is the url http://www.monitorworld.com/faq_pages/q17_page.html

Looks like if you connect

Monitor Pin.............15 Sub D Pin
1.......................6
2.......................7
3.......................1
4.......................2
5.......................3
6.......................8,10
7.......................N/A
8.......................13
9.......................14

This should work, BUT I have NOT done this myself, and thus I am not positive that this will work in your case (I cannot see the components myself).

Anyway, you can use the info at the site above if my efforts were in vain.

Good Luck,
Banti
