I get an error that will not go away, stays on desktop. has caused computer from allowing to go from outlook express to view a web page. all web pages come with error to check settings. I know settings are correct but still have to reboot in order to get back to view pages.
is it because of the stimon error message or is it an explorer error i also get that stays on desktop. when you try to close it nothing happens if you x it out the system goes to shutdown.. Help

On my computer, stimon.exe is the Still Image Monitor that is required to use my scanner.

I haven't had any problems like you're experiencing, but I do have stimon.exe disabled in msconfig just so it's not always running in the backround when I don't need it.

To temporarily disable stimon, press <CRTL><ALT><DEL> only once and select stimon from the list of running tasks, then click "End Task". (You may have to do this more than one time to actually get the program to close.) If your problems go away, you may have a corrupt file, or another program that conflicts with stimon.
