Check this out-
I bought a CL 48X CD-ROM at Wal-Mart a while back, which died after about a week of use. No problem, went to Wal-Mart, showed receipt, & got a new drive.
Then the new drive went south after about a month, but without a receipt, a box, & no proof of purchase (cash) I figured I was hosed.
Sent an email to CL customer serv. to let them know that there might be a problem with these drives, since I had lost 2 in 2 months. I told them that I didn't expect a refund or anything, I was just passing along information.
To my surprise, they sent me an RMA number & asked me to send it anyway- which I did (about 10 days ago).
Today I got a brand new drive UPS 2nd day from them- and this one was manufactured by a different company than the bad ones, so I guess there was a problem with the other batch.
I thought that was pretty cool considering I had no proof of purchase, no UPC code, no box, nothing.
Pretty darn good customer service... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
