I have dl'd the newest two bios' from awards site. I have bios of 01/19/1999
-i440BX-00000006C-00
v4.60PGMA
I follow the instructions and try to run the prg at bootup from both the startup disk at dos, AND at the dos prompt from within windows. Both result in the same...the prg has a box with an error of" incorrect CRC....

Any clues?

Make sure you are booting from a system boot disk, not a win 98, 95 etc. startup disk. A bios flash must be performed in a pure dos environment.

Be sure you read and follow the BIOS installation instructions from the motherboard manufacturer's web site completely and exactly. Different MB manufacturers have slightly different procedures for installing BIOS, but most require you to have a floppy formatted with system files only, then copy the BIOS data and the installation program to that disk. You then boot the disk and run the program from there.

Be sure you have the specific instructions for your motherboard or you may corrupt your BIOS and ruin your motherboard.
