I'm not that old (no offend) but I am pretty sure that I never use scroll (horizontal) button to read a tread until now. Did I done something wrong with my Netscape or (settings 1024by768).

If you're referring to the thread containing a URL, then no, you didn't do anything wrong. URLs don't like to be on more than a single line and thus push the margins out.
