HDD Access Light Flashing

My HDD access light keeps flashing, even when nothing is accessing the drive. It flashes in the following sequence: one long flash, three short flashes. Over and over, as long as the computer is turned on. Even in safe mode. The access light does light up when the drive is being accessed, then goes back to the flashes when done. Any ideas?

this may be the fix for you, it was for me..
go to the cdrom properties in device manager and uncheck "auto insert notification".dont ask me why it works that way,but there is a thread where i learned this. then cd's wont auto play..which to me is a good thing..
