SOYO SY-5EMA Pro motherboard

I just put together a new computer and when i started it up is says there is a keyboard error, i tried 3 differen't keyboards, same thing. Customer support is a joke, they said they are clueless and it's probably a bad board but this is the second motherboard and they both did it. It seems like the keyboard isn't even getting power because the lights on the keyboards don't come on. I am using the correct port and it is ps2. Any info you can give me would help a lot, thanks.

I just put together a new computer with a soyo 7iwm/lv1.0 motherboard and have the exact same problem. If you find out anything please email me: nunrleft@hotmail.com Could it possibly be because these are ATX motherboards we need ATX keyboards (operating at 3.3 volts instead of 5)? I haven't heard of any compatibility problems with keyboards.

Just a thought, you are not plugging in the kbd while the power is on are you? This could blow the kbd fuse or damage the mobo.

Nope. It has done it every time I've tried to boot the thing. The keyboard has been plugged in every time prior to power up.
If its a blown keyboard fuse or diode on the motherboard, can it be fixed? If so, can I do it myself? I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron...I know the problem is on the motherboard as I'm using one of the keyboards I've tried on this computer. Could it be bypassed with a usb keyboard or will I have to have it fixed before I can even install a usb keyboard?
