Every time I start or reboot my machine, Windows98 opens the folder c:\program
It's not in the autostart folder, and not in the registry (at least I haven't been able to find it there). Does anyone know how to make it stop doing that??

Go to Start/Run and type in: sysedit
Check for any references in the Autoexec and Configsys. In Win.ini, check the [windows] section and see if there's anything after the Run= and Load= lines. Check system.ini boot and boot description sections.

If that doesn't work..

If you have application(s) that installed it self into "Programs" folder (this is not the "Program Files" folder correct?) Uninstall those apps and see if it still happens.

Reinstall them to a different folder one app at a time to identify which program caused this.

If it's an empty folder try deleting it.

I've checked the complete sysedit-set of files... nothing...
The swedish system have both "program files" and "program". Almost every application I have installed, I have in "Program".

Go to Start/Run again.
Type: msconfig
See if there is anything obvious. If not, make a note of everything that has checkmark.
Clear all check boxes.
Reboot.
If it doesn't come up, start marking the boxes again one at a time.

try this, start, programs, accesories, system info, when this opens select system tools then system configuration,go to advanced, and use the selective startup option.this will let you determine which .ini or .sys file this is located in.
