I read messages on this BB all the time, I screw around with computers as much as I can, every computer I've ever owned, I've built on a budget by collecting used computer parts from friends and co-workers. I'm always trying to learn more, but all too often I'll read a message here, or an article somewhere else, and I'll see a word or abbreviation and it will be familiar, but I won't quite know what it means. What I am looking for is a web site or program or anything I can use to look up those elusive words and become that much more an informed individual. Things change so fast in this industry, that if your not acutally in the business like many of you are, it is very easy to fall behind. Thanks in advance for yoru help.

Yeap I know what ya mean, it can get real confusing when you only have in you mind: "What the heck are they talking about?!"
Try this link:
http://www.maximumpc.com/terminator/
Also when you buy this magazine (MaximumPC and MaximumLinux) at the end of it there is a glossary with the words used on it that could create confusion.
Hope it was what you were looking for! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Echo davem - this site and you folks are the best! Thanks to all w/special note to susan and socalgal. I've added these and will use them! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Right on. All you guys on this site rock. I think I will be becoming a regular on this site. I book marked almost all of the sites posted. I just might get good at this. I just wish I could devote more time to this. Working about 55 hours a week, and trying to have a social life doesn't leave much time for becoming a cyber badass. Anyway, thanks again, I'll be around.
