I'm building my first pc and I'm using an Asus A7V MB w/ no onboard sound. I have a dvd on primary IDE set as master, a cd-rw on secondary, set as master. HD on the ATA100 controller. A GeForce 256 in the agp slot and an SB Live X-Gamer in the third PCI slot. Here's my problem: When I load the SB Live drivers up, windows no longer recognizes the drive on the secondary IDE. What's really puzzling is that both drives are listed in device manager with no conflicts, as is the sound card. However drive E is not in My Computer. When I uninstall the sound card drivers, the two drives work fine. Both drives are also listed in the BIOS. Any ideas?
