I dont know **** about the bios. Im not a computerengineer.but anyway. what ive read about the w95cih-virus is thar it overwrites the biosflashchip if its not writeprotected.
Ive fdisked my harddisk two times but the devilish virus sticks like glue.
I guess that the virus hides in the bios,it fuc**s with the mba and plays with the register.
I need some help restoring my bios and writeprotect it.I want to get rid of this malicious virus before i go nuts.

You must repartition your hard drive to be sure you get everything off the drive.

Here are some things you may want to try.

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/cih.html Read through to the end of this, I hope this is not the case, but you may have suffered some hardware damage.

Please, no swearing. Thanks.

I think your boot disk may be infected. When you boot the virus is going into memory and transfering back to the hard disk.

use a clean boot disk.

When I was "in the loop" and CIH came out we had our mobo vendors telling us they would re-flash a BIOS for ten or fifteen bucks..some like QDI sent us an autoflasher..
but I recall it didn't work too well...

CLEAR CMOS DATA JUMPER . Do it. Probably work. Get a boot disk made on a friend's computer and scan it. Oh, and write protect it. Then engage flash bios protection. Also, pull your video card to reset it's bios.
