Besides the info jokostel is requesting also post the errors device manager shows when you double click on it. And if it has a "Resources" tab also post any conflicts it may show.

It sounds like your network card?
Windoze is a funny little beast ,it likes you to do things more than once ( in fact sometimes ,many times over)
There is two options
1. try re installing the driver for that device by double clicking on it and clicking on reinstall driver.
2.This is what you will usually end up having to do . Remove the device ,by selecting it and clicking remove then reboot and see if windoze will pick it up on boot up.If it does then make sure that it finds all the drivers for it by it's self .
A bit hard to explain in a short post like this .but if you force it to take a driver or setting that is not compatable or sip a file and try to add it later the device will just not work .
One last thing to try if it says that the driver is ok,
In device manager select (computer) then click properties and see if your device or any other is conflicting. If it is then that is a whole seperate issue for another post.
