Every since I upgraded my Compaq to Windows 98SE many months ago, my computer makes an extremely loud (can be heard all over the house)beep when I do a restart. The beep occurs after the Compaq logo shows but before the Windows splash screen. It comes through the desktop speakers. I upgraded to Windows ME this week and I still have the loud beep problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
