Well it seems like forever...but I've gotten a connection to the internet other than dialup. <and there was much rejoicing> yay. yay.

Before I couldn't get DSL because I was too far away...here recently though they installed sub stations and now I have it. While it's better than dialup...seems to me that my download rates are quite a bit less then others that have DSL. What can I do to change this? While I realize that most of it is my distance and that I can't change (unless I wanna pack everything up and move. lol) but a friend was telling me earlier about line interference? And things I could do to reduce that? One thing he mentioned was that if I had any cordless phones...to make sure that they were all in the gigahertz range...that anything below might cause more line noise? What other things can I do to improve my situation?

I've gotten all the patches that I need (least the ones that I know of) and have already installed them...

Looking forward to any replies...
