I partition and format my drive then when I begin to load windows I get this error message.
"An invalid command option was specified. Check the command line and try again, or type setup/? for help on setup command options. (0x13ab)"
I,ve partitioned a reformatted several times, but had no luck. I just type in setup C in dos te get it to start it goes through scandisk and then prepares to load Windows. Then I get that error messag.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think Dave was dropping you a subtle hint not to start multiple threads that deal with the same topic.

I solved the problem. All I did was reinstall windows by first copying the CD to my C drive then installing windows here is how.
Run the Windows 98 Setup from Your Hard Drive.
During the installation of Windows 98, you may experience problems with the CD-ROM drive or you may want to speed up the installation process. By copying the setup files to your hard drive you can bypass the CD-ROM drive and speed up installation. Here's how:
1. Free up more disk space. You'll need ~200 MB extra to store the setup and CAB files.
2. If you're NOT having problems accessing the CD-ROM drive, you can bypass the step. Create a bootable floppy with CD-ROM drivers. Insert the floppy disk and reboot your PC.
3. From DOS, create a directory to store the setup files. Type the following commands (pressing Enter after each command):
C: {where C is the drive letter for your hard drive}
MD SETUP98
CD SETUP98
D {where D is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive}
CD WIN98
COPY *.* C:\SETUP98
This will copy all of the necessary setup files to your hard drive.
4. Type these commands to start the setup process:
C: {where C is the drive letter of your hard drive}
CD SETUP98
SETUP
You're now on your way.
