Try:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion. Click on the 'Current Folder' and the Product ID should be listed in the right-hand pane.
I did that, I can only see 20 of the 25 characters I need. Help???
Make the right hand pane bigger.
Rat...
I'm not that much of a newbie. Even when I double click on ProductID to change the value, only 20 characters come up in the window. There is a field called DigitalID that gives the ID in Hex, but alas it doesn't translate the last 5 digits, just the first 20.
That is stored in an encrypted area of the registry. If you try to access it, it will tell you you are trying to access a protected registry data area.
It also will make you feel like your under arrest for software piracy.
MS does not play nice with attempted ways to get their software from them. Ever since W95/98 was proven so easy to hack ( no key needed to install and run ) they changed their stance a little.

Sorry Duff.... didn't maen to offend. Perhaps you can call MS and ask for a #, they will require proof of purchase. But then they could be a **** about it too. You do have 20 of the #'s as partial proof you own a copy.
Rat...
No hard feelings rat...
I kinda had a feeling I was going to need to call big brother, D*mn.
