sound card distortions...help pls!!!!

I JUST BOUGHT CREATIVE SOUND BLASTERS LIVE DE 5.1, SINCE THAT I GOT TROUBLE WITH SOUND DISTORTION WHEN RUNNING GAMES LIKE UNREAL TOURNAMENT, SIM3000 AND MORE... MY COMP. SYS. HANG... . FOR INFORMATION I'D ALREADY UPDATE SBLIVE DRIVER BUT DIDN'T WORK. MY COMP. SYSTEM IS AMD K6-2 450, NVIDIA TNT2 M64 , 15G QUANTUM LM ( 7.2K RPM ) , MOBO EPOX MPV3-G3. FULL INSTALLATION ALSO IS SAME. PLEASE HELP MEEE..........

Please no offense but you don't need to shout(aka..cap letters).

I had trouble with my SBLive. Try moving it to another slot, especially if you have it in the fifth slot. I moved mine from the fifth to the fourth slot and worked like a champ. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Try disabling EAX when running the games.

Also disable the dos emulation in device manager IF you have win9x.

Is it distorted within windows? like playing the cd or wav files?

Try different speakers! : )

I've got the same problem with a SB live value on a Bp6 m/b and moved my card around to differnet slots etc... but the sound distortions don't happen all the time... wierd!!!

I don't have any troubles... with the same mobo as u sixpac. I also have a sblive value. did u make sure that all of the connections are correct? also, with that mobo, i'm assuming that ur overclocking something!?! if you are, make sure that you're not running to many MHz through the pci bus. that could cause ur problem, but I doubt it... wierd

My sound card now work in good condition. The problem is my DirexX already old. Not support for 7.0 . Otherwise thanks a lot give me a hints for solving my problem.
