Hi all, i am looking to set up a network for me and up to 30 of my friends to play games.
We are hoping to use a win98 peer to peer and have done this for up to ten people.

What i want to know is whether there are any limits or performance issues from having this many users on a win98 network.

We have two game servers to serve about 15 people each and have two 100/10 speed switches.

thanx in advance for all replies

Marcus, (hehe that's my name too!)

If you indeed have two 100/10 switches that have enought ports for everyone to be connected, and if everyone there has 100mbit network card, everything should go smoothly. If some poeple only have 10mbit cards, make sure thay they are all plugged into the same switch. Also, the servers should have 100mbit cards, don't let them get off with a 10mbit.

I am sure that your performance will be fine. If you had enough switches you could easily double that number without a major hit on performace at all.

I hope you have fun!
