Is bios screwed up?

Im trying to get an older pent2 comp. up and running at work. After successful post, it hangs on a stuck key on keyboard error.I go into bios(award) and keyboard works fine. I dissable halt on keyboard error, and reboot.Now, safemode menu comes up. When I try to make a selection, it only allows 3 or 7 and wont even go anywhere from there.Tried bios defaults, no good.
If mobo is bad, why would keyboard work in the bios? Tried diff. keyboard, no luck. My brain is almost fried!@#$#%$#!!

Is is the latest BIOS version?? even if it is try re-installing it. What make of board is it??

Try clearing the CMOS, see if that helps. You said it's an older system, maybe you should check the battery; make sure it's still good.
