Specs:

FIC 503+ v1.2 E-0037 & latest bios
WD 20G 7200 udma/66 on Primary
Delta 40x UDMA Slave on Primary
Pine 4x4x24 CDRW Slave on Secondary
128M
Dual boot W98se & W2kPro

When I enable udma in bios, I can boot into 98 from power on to login prompt in 38 sec.

W2k is a different story with udma enabled, it will showing starting up for about 7.5 minutes then reboot itself. Only way to boot W2k is with udma off. Have tried the enable udma66 registry fix with no luck. What am I missing?

I am pretty sure the 503+ is only an ATA33 board. If you enabled ATA66 on the hard drive, this may be causing the problem.

Try installing the data-lifeguard tools from westerndigital.com they have a UDMA tool allowing you to see the maximum speed you can set the drive to and change the setting if necessary.

Correct the 503+ is ata/33. The WD is ata/66 but will drop back to ata/33. Besides, system works great when I boot W98 & UDMA enabled.
