How do I find out who owns/operates an IP address? I tried WhoIs.com and they only accept domain names.

Redd. Which IP are you looking for? You can get it by just entering the IP at Whois but you have to use a different search engine. I dont have the link with me but I will be happy to help you.

It's the first hop or node on my cable modem.
I would like to know where this thing is-no one at RR knows or just won't tell.
