Do you have a lot of mail messages sitting around? The more you use Outlook the more garbage collects the slower it gets.

Is this a new install or the upgrade? When I tried to upgrade the whole computer went to hell and was glad to get back to 98. With all the new viruses, I went back Netscape 4.0.
Good luck

Dkay,
You didnt mention which version of outlook you are using. If it is Outlook2000 try the repair option as it might have some corupted files that is draging it down. Also with the Win98 do a defrag with the "arrange programs" option. (this kind of defrag actually lines up the code in the order that windows actually uses it (not just getting rid of open clusters). I have Outlook2K and mine opens in about 3-5 sec's depending on my avaliable system resources http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
