I am running win 2k on a HP Pavilion PII 450. It originally came with win 98 on it. I have downloaded the bios update and when I try to install it, I am prompted to make a bootable floppy and put the bios update on that floppy then restart using this floppy. The problem is that with win 2k the startup and recovery is a set of 4 disks not just one disk. How would I install this update?

I personally would use a Win98 boot disk. After the system boots up and the three questions come up, hit Shift+F5 and then type awdflash (or whatever you need to run) to begin flashing the BIOS. Beware, do not shut down the machine half way through or a new BIOS chip will be needed.

You can also find a win98 system and go to the format menu. From there you can select "copy system files to disk" and that will do the job for you as well.
