Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Delete Network Neighborhood!!
Trying to delete NetNeigh from Desktop in W98 SE OS.
There is a System Policy Editor (poledit.exe) that accomplishes this task. Have poledit for W95, but it does not work for W98.
Have W98 SE OS CD, but can't seem to access poledit.exe. Appreciate some suggestions on how to run poledit.exe.
Thank you.

Just grab TweakUI from www.tweakfiles.com (http://www.tweakfiles.com)
You can add and remove anything from your Windows desktop. Also, it will automatically remove itself if there are no network protocols or bindings installed in the network control panel. You can do it either of those ways if your poledit.exe doesn't work.
Hope that helps

FZWG,
I also used TweakUI once to remove the Network Neighborhood from the desktop (Win98SE). However, when I tried to restore it to the desktop using TweakUI at a later stage, nothing happened. I could only restore it by reinstalling e.g. Direct Cable Connection through the Windows Setup. I do not know whether this is a bug in TweakUI or not. (Uninstalling and reinstalling TweakUI did not help either.)
Anybody else experienced the same problem?
