Here's on for you. How do you post on newsgroups? I'm sure it's not difficult, but I've never done it before.
I have Outlook and Outlook Express 5. Doesn't really matter which one I use, but I'd really like to do some posting.
As always, any help is appreciated

First you need to find a public news server, and specially one that lets you post on the newsgroups it gives you access to.
Just search on any search engine for "public news server" and look for those that let you post.

Well, if you on the internet (which obviously you are) and you're paying for an ISP (not the "free" one's) then you should have a news server availible to you through your ISP.
If so, then that news server will let you post and will be TREMENDOUSLY faster than any public servers.
I'm not familiar with Outlook and how it handles newsgroups, so if you need help with that, you're just gonna have to break down and hit F1.
Personally, I use (and recommend) Forte Agent as the best news reader.

Okay, I got a newsgroup, (news.ramlink.net). This newsgroup supports posting.
So, now I can read postings (via Outlook Express 5) but, I still don't know how to post myself. I'm sure this is very simple, but......
Thanks again...

To make a post using OE 5.0 just go to the newsgroup where you want to make the post and click on the icon on the toolbar that reads "New Post" or "New Message" it will have the icon of a small paper with a pin over it.
Thats it! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

A REALLY good newsgroup ready which is user friendly and gets you where you want to go, is WinVN NewsGroup Reader.
NCSA provides it.
