I have the IBM ThinkPad 390E notebook with unknown power-on password installed on it.
I ask IBM Service could they remove it, but they sad that can only install new motherboard and it take about $1000!!!
May be somebody know another way how to clear this.

If you got a manual, try finding something about a jumper, which resets the BIOS.

It's normally placed rather close to the BIOS or BIOS battery.

Normally you just have to short the jumper, then power on (nothing happens), then power off again.

After that your BIOS will be reset. - That is if the jumper is present on your mobo. I'm not sure since it's a laptop.

Use the program "killCMOS".

I can send it to you if you can't find it on your own.
