HELP!!! illegal Operations ARE DRIVING ME OUT OF MY MIND!!!!!!!

Ok I need help.

yesterday i was browsing Planethalflife when out of nowhere a illegal operaton poped up. so clicked close and started up IE yet again another illegal operation. so then i restarted windows and everything worked out fine. but these are happing very commonly. before they almost NEVER happend! that was when i had 64MB of EL CHEAPO NO NAME BRAND memory. i also notice some instability since i installed the new memory im probally gonna take it out and try the old one and see what happens.

what else may be causeing this?

Your computer seems to have been brought up in some illegal training camp for the underworld dogs, the US govt. has been trying to get hold of all the comps that are being sent out on 'seek and destroy' missions, but as you can well imagine there are legions and legions of them out there, they work in groups usually with one comp being the xo, however if the xo is removed then each cell is entirely able to work completely independently, researching and analyzing its environments to define its targets and enemies.

Click on details when the error appears, note what file is causing it, back it up and then try using system file checker to extract the file off the windows cd.

Hope this helps but when this happens to me its usually a sign of too much software tweaking so I format.

Your RAM may not like running at CAS-2. Try backing it off to CAS-3. Even if its labeled CAS-2, try this, and if its refusing to run that high, return it for a refund. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

when ever i clcik details i get Uknown and asome sort of code. i do have a lot of programs installed but isnt that the point? more memory more programs you can run at once more hard drive space more programs you can cram into the hdd. i usally trying to run MusicMatch and i get a ton of problems that i dont get on my dads celeron 500 w/128MB of ram. why is it i have 256MB of ram and i have all sorts of problems? I took out one stick of my dads ram and put it in mine i took out the 256MB first and ran the computer w/ only 64MB of ram Musicmatch ran fine. i then ran tried winamp no problems half-life... NO POBLEMS! PSP7 no problems I think there may be sumthing up with the memory. I may exchange it. im thinking it was when i was hancling it i 4got to unplug the motherboard before sticking it in. could that cause a problem?

oh how do i change the cas? its grayed out in the bios. i think i have to put it on user define ill check it out. if it will run at cas3 this thing is going back to mushkin ofr a exchange.

Voogru, I feel your pain my friend. I have had the same issues with IE5 and IE5.5 for many months now. I also tried a fresh clean install but the problem does come back eventually. Microsoft RegClean and/or Norton Windoctor do not help. My memory is running at CAS3. Though 2 of the 3 sticks are cheapo 64MB PC100 no-names - the good one being a 128MB PC133 Micron in there with them. Could be the 2 sticks of PC100 because I just stuck the PC133 in there a few days ago and I've had this problem for a while.

Anyway, I click on details whenever I get those IE illegal operations and I've seen many things:

OLE32
and 1 other I can't remember at the moment, which comes up the most.

I find myself hoping at every link I click will not crash the browser. I've even started to use Netscape 4.08 since it does crash less.

I used to think it was because I had Yahoo Companion installed with IE that did it, but I've since uninstalled the Companion and even upgraded to IE5.5 and still have the same issues.

I don't know why IE is the only program doing this to me... could the cheap RAM be causing just IE to **** out? I don't know. I can try System File Checker, but I've run that before and am afraid to replace any system files because there's so many to go through when using SFC. I may have to though... I mean, a clean install in essence gives you new system files right? I will try anything too...
