Been having a problem getting this card to work. When installed, boot up screens indicate that the card is recognized but new HD's do not boot (they are being configured as secondary drives) with the primary drives connected to my mobo's ide connectors.
The new drives work fine if connected to the on-board ata33 connectors (mobo) so I know that the HD's are OK. I D/L the newest drivers and firmware and was successfull in doing the flash/driver install. What am I missing? (from promise)
My system specs:
Abit BH6 1.0 (newest bios)
C2 533 OC to 825 (8 x 103 and tried getting this card to work at stock settings too)
Golden orb/silver paste
256mb pc133 (generic)
Maxtor 8gb ata33 drive & Maxtor 7gb ata33 drive connected to primary HD connector on mobo.
8x8x32 CD-RW connected to secondary ide on the mobo.
SB-Live value
PCI nic card (kingston)
US-Robotics 56k ISA modem
ATI all-in-wonder pro AGP 16mb

New drives not installed due to Promise problems...Maxtor 20gb ata66 5200 rpm & Maxtor ata100 7200 rpm 40gb
I'd really like to get the extra 60gb on line soon...please any help would be appreciated.

Set your motherboard to boot off scsi first(i.e. scsi,a,c or scsi as primary boot device, c as secondary boot device etc) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Had simular problems. If you have both new drives on the same IDE cable, set one as master just like the drives running off motherboard connections. If you are running them on 2 seperate cables, set them both to master. Will change the drive letters in windows but should work now. You may have to reinstall promise drivers. Good Luck. Jeff
