I picked something up at Classifieds2000 - memory. It was supposed to go out USPS priority before Thanksgiving and it hasn't showed yet. I am corresponding regularly with the seller, but I could use a little more reassurance. How long should I wait before I start to panic?

Didn't you get a tracking number?
Check it at: http://www.usps.gov

I have both shipped & recieved via USPS since Thanksgiving, but that's not necessarily a trouble indicator, the distance may have been much less.

For what it's worth, a package shipped from Massachusetts 11/22 arrived in St Louis 11/24, and one from Texas arrived 11/26

One shipped from St L. 12/3 arrived Ohio 12/6

BUT others have posted MUCH longer delays in the trade forum!

I asked about this and the seller says that there is no tracking number, the item was shipped priority mail. Is priority mail trackable?

priority mail from the post office has no tracking number but it is to be 2-3 day delivery time hence why it is called priority

I sent something from florida on tues priority mail and it arrived in california on fri...now thats service

Well, this is been over two weeks and so I am going to assume there has been a problem.

I just ran a search over at "user to user...", and picked up on the problems between oxo and Gene C. This is the first time I have had this kind of delay. Usually, I am happy to get something within 10 days but I usually get it much sooner. The item that is being traded here was sold at Classifieds2000. I have never had problems there before. The seller seems totally unconcerned and this is a little disturbing. You'd think they would be as worried as I am.

Anyhow, unless anybody else has any suggestions, this is going to all the appropriate authorities, starting with the post office.

if it was sent priorty mail I dont care through who there is a tracking # the only time you do not get a tracking # is if you send it regular deliver if he/she said they sent it 2-3 day priorty and it is not there in less than 4 days then , they sent it to the wroung address and they should have gotten it retruned by now or they did not send it. it's that simple.

scotter I'm sorry but the United States Post Office priority mail that sends for $3.20 does not have a tracking number. That is how I send almost everything I ship if it is small enough. One more thing is that it is rare that the USPS does not get thier priority packages to the destination within the time specified (2 to 3 days). They are after all a business and all in all do a pretty **** good job for Gov run.

I hesitated to post this but misinformation is not good for anybodys sake in doing business over the internet.

Scotter, I've asked the USPS and they say priority mail is not necessarily tracked. There is an additional service, you must request it.

What do you two think I should do?
