For years now, the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) has been haunting our PCs. Would you rather see the Magenta Screen of Death? What about Cyan? That's doable. Open up SYSTEM.INI and fly to the [386enh] section. Add two new values: 'MessageBackColor=' and 'MessageTextColor=' (without the quotes, but with the equal symbol). You'll need to use ONE hexadecimal "number" for each color; they are as follows: 0 (black), 1 (blue), 2 (green), 3 (cyan), 4 (red), 5 (magenta), 6 (yellow), 7 (white), 8 (gray), 9 (bright blue), A (bright green), B (bright cyan), C (bright red), D (bright magenta), E (bright yellow), F (bright white). I hope you never see another screen of death again.

Thanks for the info... now I can go show my friends. Imagine that... Hey look at how nice my screen looks when the computer gods are mad at me.

This was stolen directly from Lockergnome's Tip of the Day. :P

Comtech, do you think it really matters where codybear got the info? I don't see anywhere in his post that he tried to pass the information off as his own discovery. Personaly I appreciate him passing on the info regardless of where it came from.

yes comtech it was and with all or most information it was found somewhere and passed around...I did not say hey look what I discovered..It was "exactly" as I recieved it in my mailbox. If you have reason to believe this to be wrong then I apologise to you and invite you to no longer read my posts because if I find something or am sent something I think will benifit the people that frequent this board or any board then I will post it.

I think the word stolen is a bit harsh as many people post things from other places and do not 'steal' them as much as 'share' them

Ok, share is a better word.
Lockergnome stuff is copyrighted by Chris, and as such should be given credit.
I dont' oppose the post, as it's a good one, just, please, give credit when you do.
I too have posted some things from Lockergnome, and recommend it to everyone as the best newsletter on the 'net!
