Member statics? We're not calling ourselves anything different - these are our titles. I am Scott Wainner, Editor-in-Chief of SysOpt.com, Joel Kleppinger is Contributing Editor of the site, and Socalgal is Forum Moderator.

Ha! it'll be funny when we all have ultimate standings..
I am in support of this hierarchy, by the way... we need though, to have a "Super Special" standing, for 2000, and when you hit 10 billion posts, an "overclocked hampster." I know mntsnow'll hit 10 billion posts in the next few days, so hop to it! lol

I dont know about the rest of you but I dont find that amusing or cool at all....what was the point of making so many d*** useless posts anyway??? As much as I would like to have a cool title like "ultimate member" I'm sure not gonna go that far.....I'd like to feel at least like I earned it.....

Granted, I may not always have a quality post and some have been just for fun but I find this type of thing ridiculous.....my 2cents, whatever that is worth.....

Purely out of interest....I'd like to see a comparison of the average posts/hour before and after the board got classes. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hohohoho! Most humorous!
I sure hope that it was a (failed) satirical attempt at proving the irrelevence of member status based on number of posts, or you kept hitting submit lots by accident when the page didn't refresh...
Hugo, ever wonder what "IP logged" means?
Oh and the little envelope on your posts which gives everyone your email address (assuming it is yours - fraud if it isn't), one which is short, memorable, and I'm sure quite valuable to you if Hugo is your real name...
It would be a shame for it to be permanently clogged with junkmail and 1MB images of a dubious nature.
This board is a tolerant one, but I doubt that your ISP is as forgiving.

Hugo... you made somewhere around 113 posts that mean nothing... 1 post with text on this thread and only have 117 total posts. Come on. If you hit the button too many times by accident that's ok I'm sure most of us have done it. Still 113 times with nothing that you were contributing. The point of this system is that people who invest a lot of time helping others are recognized. It is not to see how many frivolous posts people can make.

Hugo, you have really pissed me and a lot of people off. If you [i]did[i/] do that by accident (I know yesterday i made four posts when I only wanted one) then ask Socalgal to remove them. To be honest though, in reference to your 'junior' and 'senior' distincions, I doubt it was an accident. Regardless, either an explanation or an apology is due.
The member rankings were intended to encourage, from what I can tell 1)increased awareness of who is who 2)an increased number of quality posts.
You did neither for yourself. With your hacking statement, you show little regard for the authority of the Administration on this board. They put in a LOT of time and effort. Why make a mockery of their efforts? If you wish to make a mockery of this board, please, out of consideration for me and others, STOP!
This board is a source of knowledge and entertainment for many of us. I got really excited when I saw '125 posts.' I was thinking that the hampster was back! You have screwed my day. I'm pretty pissed man, and unless you have an explanation here, I'd never take anything you said on this board seriously.

I'm pissed off,
Apostle 83

yeah....I thought about doing that numerous times, but, its all just numbers. It looks like hugo is new, Apostle, so lets lets just say "Hey that wasnt right dont do that again" and leave it at that. He can have 13,000 posts for all im concerned and I will still turn to the likes of Mntsnow, Welsh Wizard, and Gene C. for all my computer questions/needs.

Hey Socalgal, is there any way you could minus the 113 posts from "Hugo's account" ???

I agree chipbgt.

Hugo, you made your point, but I don't think there is anyone on this board who takes the rankings seriously. Each poster (and their individual post) is judged on its merit. Yours included. We all try to help fix technical problems and discuss new tech, as well as have a laugh or whine about something.
Threatening to crack the site wasn't wise, but if you really do have the skill to crack webservers, then you also undoubtedly have knowledge that would benefit and help others on this board if they were stuck with a particular issue. Think about impressing people with your knowledge and experience, not script-kiddy tricks. You will gain far more respect. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Member ratings mean nothing. The knoledgeable people on this board are defined not by their member status, but by their reputation.

When I first visited this BBS, I was a "newbie" to computers.I posted a lot of questions and received a lot of answers.I learned from this, and in turn, started answering questions.I turned from a "questioner" to an "answerer".I feel this was a major goal of this BBS,and it seems to be working......As far as the number of posts a person makes, well,I'm not counting. It's not a ego thing for me.We're here to help people, plain and simple!.....DawgTuff.
