I am having a big problem trying to get my scanner to work. It used to work and after I had to reinstall windows 98, it hasn't worked since. I was told to download drivers and I did and it is still looking for "SHELL 32.DLL File linked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL:SHRegGETUSAValueA." I looked in my files and SHELL 32.DLL is there and the other one is also there. If I click on them, I get a message that they are not connected. When I down loaded the drivers, how do I get them to go to the scanner?

This will be wordy.
Go to control panel, scroll down to scanners and cameras, open up and click on your scanner if it is there, click remove. Download your drivers. they will prob. be in a .zip file,in an .exe file. Click your deiver file, another file will appear and you will press the unzip button. You have just unpacked your driver files to the folder C:\Windows\Temp. Now you have to get them to your scanner. Click start, shutdown ,choose restart.
Now you should get the windows has found new hardware and is searching for the drivers....etc.What would you like windows to do? You click, show me a list, then you click on the Have disk button. Then it the search button and go to C:|Widows\Temp folder. Clic that Temp folder file and you need to find the information file that holds the information about your drivers,it is the one that ends in .inf Click that folder, a box will appear with the name of your scanner in it and will ask you if youif you would like to install this device. Click ok to that and OK to any other screens. If it asks you to restart your computer,do so.
Your scanner drivers are installed and barring any other problems,it should work. Good luck!
