My HP 722C, which has been an excellent printer, developed a problem yesterday morning. I had changed video cards in my pc and all went well until I tried to print something. Uninstalled, reinstalled, tried on a different computer, tried a different new printer cable, stood on my head, and anything and everything else I could think of and the printer will not talk to the pc.
Have no idea why it chose to quit me. Spent over an hour on long distance (my dimes), most of that time on hold, trying to talk to HP service people to see about a warranty repair or replacement. They were finally made to understand that I knew just a little about configuring printers, making connections, and there in fact is something wrong with my printer. So, they issue me a repair service number (replacement seems out of the question) and told me FedEx would be coming by TODAY to pick the unit up. I carefully packaged the unit in the original packaging and had it all ready to go. Guess what, no FedEx and no word from HP.
HP markets some nice printers and advertises a fair warranty but it's obvious to me they do EVERYTHING they can including delay tactics to keep from honoring their own warranties.
I realize they've so far only missed by one day, but I will be very surprised if FedEx show up at all (due to HP's request).
Sorry, had to vent!! :
