Installed unknown Simms into a Pentium 166
system. Windows gave a protection fault. Removed memory and returned to original 32 megs. Now keyboard is fine in dos but does not work correctly in Windows. Programs will not load. System does not recognize floppy in Windows. It shows it but cannot read it.
I can boot from the floppy but cannot read it inside Windows. I realize that something was damaged but the incorrect use of memory but it works fine in dos.

You may not have done any damage to your computer since dos is still working. I once tried to overclock my ram. When I booted up, I corrupted quite a few window files. I ended up reloading windows. You can try reloading windows overtop of the existing files to try and save your other files. I have saved a few machines this way, however, it usually doesn't give a very stable windows environment.(so whats new with that) At least it worked so I could get in the harddrive and save some files.

Before you mess with re-installing Winders, try clearing your CMOS and see if the problems go away.

Problem corrected. I reset the bios. Ran fdisk and format. I then reinstalled Windows.
Now I get to deal with the usual Windows problems. Thanks for the input.
