Is wake on lan possible over a cable modem

I want to be able to turn on my home computer from work to transfer files as needed. Is it possible to get a wake on lan compatable network card to see the "magic packet" wake up frames through a cable modem? Anybody have experience doing this? Suggestions?

While in theory possible, no cable modem setup (I know of) so far offers this feature. Running your computer 24/7 is not a sin, just have some decent cooling, and an uninteruptable power supply.
