I plan on downloading directx7 and 5.01. Are these stable to use and is there any major improvements?.I am currently using directx 6.1a and ie 5.002.

Please give any comments or any experience you have using them..Thx

had no problems with them go for it you can aways go back IE 5.00? that is easy.
DX7 is a little harder to go back from though.

I've had no problem with Dx7, not much difference than 6.1 though. I havn't tried IE5.1, i'm happy with IE5.

I wouldn't go for 5.01 yet. Still buggy.
Isn't directx7.0 for the PIII?
I have a PII450,win'98 and directx7.0-no problems that I'm aware of-had it bout 1mth.

Not a single glitz or hickup from IE 5.01 and/or DX7. In fact IE fixed the lock-ups I had with previous versions.

Still have netscape for anything that could happend http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

As long as you have your computers drivers uptodate you should not have problems with IE5.01 and DX7 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I am currently running this setup on my Main system.

btw. I am currently now working on finding all the bugs and workarounds for IE5.5. on my test bed system. (not having crashes http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif but some inconsisancies that I dont care for http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif)

As some of the others have mentioned you can always revert back to what you know will work.
